September 2005 Community Crusade - SF Bicycle Coalition

This September the KUSF Community Crusade focuses on the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is dedicated to transforming San Francisco's streets and neighborhoods into safer and more livable places by promoting the bicycle for everyday transportation. Thanks to the energy and dedication of their 4,500 members and volunteers, the Bicycle Coalition is helping create a bicycle friendly city. The Bicycle Coalition's #1 goal is to complete a safe and easy to use Citywide Bicycle Network of bike paths, bike lanes, and traffic-calmed streets where anyone from the ages of 8 to 80 will feel comfortable on a bike. They offer internships, bike maps, bike parking information, volunteer opportunities and a comprehensive event calendar on their website at www.sfbike.org. You can also call (415) 431-BIKE to find out how you can pedal your way into a better tomorrow.

September 2005 Community Crusade - Rides for Bay Area Commuters

This September, KUSF's Community Crusade supports Rides for Bay Area Commuters. For over 20 years, Rides for Bay Area Commuters has been dedicated to helping commuters find and use alternatives to driving alone. These alternate methods of transportation help the environment and are often much more cost effective. Rides for Bay Area Commuters offers many free services, including consultations to determine your best commuting alternative, information on biking and public transit, and carpool referrals from their extensive commuter database. For more information on Rides for Bay Area Commuters, or to receive any of their free services, call 1-800-755-POOL or visit their website at www.rides.org.
