November 2005 Community Crusade - San Francisco Film Society
This November, KUSF's Community Crusade celebrates film with the San
Francisco Film Society. The San Francisco Film Society embraces the
art, technology and innovation of the world's most imaginative
storytellers, who use the moving image to celebrate humanity while
educating, entertaining and enriching the audiences of the world.
The San Francisco Film Society is the proud sponsor of the San
Francisco International Film Festival, now in its 49th year. And this
month, the Film Society's Picture Talk series presents New Italian
Cinema, featuring works never before screened in the U.S., many with
the directors in attendance. The series runs from November 13th
through 20th at the AMC Kabuki Theater, located at 1881 Post Street.
Tickets are currently available online.
Year round members of the San Francisco Film Society enjoy invitations
to preview screenings, discounted movie tickets, and special programs
such as New Italian Cinema and Film In The Fog. For more information
on member benefits and a schedule for New Italian Cinema, call

Alliance. Media Alliance is a 29 year old media resource and advocacy
center for media workers, non-profit organizations, social justice
activists and the general public. Their mission is excellence, ethics,
diversity and accountability in all aspects of the media in the
interests of peace, justice, and social responsibility.
Media Alliance offers journalism classes in writing, editing, and
researching stories. They also teach media strategy classes that train
non-profit organizations and activists to achieve better media coverage
of their work. The classes are taught by working media professionals.
