December 2004 Community Crusade - Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly

This holiday season, KUSF's Community Crusade spotlights Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly.

Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly is a national, non-profit organization committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. They offer the opportunity to join seniors in friendship and the celebration of life.

This month, Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly is planning to provide dinner, gifts and companionship to hundreds of isolated elders in the Bay Area. But they need your help. As a volunteer, you can participate in the Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly Gift Drive by buying and wrapping gifts for selected seniors. You can also donate food for Christmas Day dinners. Volunteers are also needed to help prepare and deliver gifts and food to people in need on either or both holidays.

Celebrate life with an old friend. Call Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly today to offer your support. Call 415-771-7957 or log onto www.littlebrothers.org.

December 2004 Community Crusade - Meals on Wheels

This December, KUSF's Community Crusade encourages you to support Meals on Wheels.

Meals on Wheels is dedicated to providing and delivering the nutritious meals that are necessary to prevent the premature institutionalization of San Francisco's homebound elderly. They are committed to fostering independent living with dignity for as long as possible.

The Meals on Wheels services include daily meal delivery, nutritional counseling, grocery shopping, and friendly visits. Meals on Wheels also offers a location where seniors can come together to enjoy a nutritious lunch. They are now looking for volunteers to help seniors in need this holiday season. No experience is necessary.

For more information or to get involved with Meals on Wheels, call 415-920-1111. Call now and make your grandma proud.
